अत्र शूरा महेष्वासा भीमार्जुनसमा युधि। युयुधानो विराटश्च द्रुपदश्च महारथः।।

atra śhūrā maheṣhvāsā bhīmārjuna-samā yudhi yuyudhāno virāṭaśhcha drupadaśhcha mahā-rathaḥ

Word Meaning

atra—here; śhūrāḥ—powerful warriors; mahā-iṣhu-āsāḥ—great bowmen; bhīma-arjuna-samāḥ—equal to Bheem and Arjun; yudhi—in military prowess; yuyudhānaḥ—Yuyudhan; virāṭaḥ—Virat; cha—and; drupadaḥ—Drupad; cha—also; mahā-rathaḥ—warriors who could single handedly match the strength of ten thousand ordinary warriors;

शब्दार्थ

अत्र - यहाँ; शूराः - वीर; महा-इषु -आसा - महान धनुर्धर; भीम-अर्जुन - भीम तथा अर्जुन; समाः - के समान; युधि - युद्ध में; युयुधानः - युयुधान; विराटः - विराट; च - भी; द्रुपदः - द्रुपद; च - भी; महारथः - महान योद्धा ।

Translation

Here in this army are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhīma and Arjuna: great fighters like Yuyudhāna, Virāṭa and Drupada.

अनुवाद

इस सेना में भीम तथा अर्जुन के समान युद्ध करने वाले अनेक वीर धनुर्धर हैं – यथा महारथी युयुधान, विराट तथा द्रुपद ।

Even though Dhṛṣṭadyumna was not a very important obstacle in the face of Droṇācārya’s very great power in the military art, there were many others who were causes of fear. They are mentioned by Duryodhana as great stumbling blocks on the path of victory because each and every one of them was as formidable as Bhīma and Arjuna. He knew the strength of Bhīma and Arjuna, and thus he compared the others with them.

अभयचरणारविंद भक्तिवेदांत स्वामी श्रील प्रभुपाद द्वारा व्याख्या

यद्यपि युद्धकला में द्रोणाचार्य की महान शक्ति के समक्ष धृष्टदयुम्न महत्त्वपूर्ण बाधक नहीं था किन्तु ऐसे अनेक योद्धा थे जिनसे भय था । दुर्योधन इन्हें विजय-पथ में अत्यन्त बाधक बताता है क्योंकि इनमें से प्रत्येक योद्धा भीम तथा अर्जुन के समान दुर्जेय था । उसे भीम तथा अर्जुन के बल का ज्ञान था, इसीलिए वह अन्यों की तुलना इन दोनों से करता है ।

We can sense fear of Duryodhana in this verse, even with a large army compared to other side, he was skeptical about winning due to skillful and great fighters like Bhīma, Arjuna, Yuyudhāna, Virāṭa and Drupada as opposite party.

यद्यपि द्रयोधन के पास अधिक सैन्यबल था परंतु हम दुर्योधन की भय को महसूस कर सकते हैं। विपक्ष में भीम, अर्जुन, युयुधान, विराट तथा द्रुपद जैसे वीर योद्धाओ के होने के कारण उसको अपनी जीत पर संशय होने लगा।
