लभन्ते ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृषयः क्षीणकल्मषाः। छिन्नद्वैधा यतात्मानः सर्वभूतहिते रताः।।

Translation

Those who are beyond the dualities that arise from doubts, whose minds are engaged within, who are always busy working for the welfare of all living beings and who are free from all sins achieve liberation in the Supreme.

अनुवाद

जो लोग संशय से उत्पन्न होने वाले द्वैत से परे हैं, जिनके मन आत्म-साक्षात्कार में रत हैं, जो समस्त जीवों के कल्याणकार्य करने में सदैव व्यस्त रहते हैं और जो समस्त पापों से रहित हैं, वे ब्रह्मनिर्वाण (मुक्ति) को प्राप्त होते हैं |

कामक्रोधवियुक्तानां यतीनां यतचेतसाम्। अभितो ब्रह्मनिर्वाणं वर्तते विदितात्मनाम्।।

Translation

Those who are free from anger and all material desires, who are self-realized, self-disciplined and constantly endeavoring for perfection, are assured of liberation in the Supreme in the very near future.

अनुवाद

जो क्रोध तथा समस्त भौतिक इच्छाओं से रहित हैं, जो स्वरुपसिद्ध, आत्मसंयमी हैं और संसिद्धि के लिए निरन्तर प्रयास करते हैं उनकी मुक्ति निकट भविष्य में सुनिश्चित है |

स्पर्शान्कृत्वा बहिर्बाह्यांश्चक्षुश्चैवान्तरे भ्रुवोः। प्राणापानौ समौ कृत्वा नासाभ्यन्तरचारिणौ।। २७ यतेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिर्मुनिर्मोक्षपरायणः। विगतेच्छाभयक्रोधो यः सदा मुक्त एव सः।। २८

Translation

Shutting out all external sense objects, keeping the eyes and vision concentrated between the two eyebrows, suspending the inward and outward breaths within the nostrils, and thus controlling the mind, senses and intelligence, the transcendentalist aiming at liberation becomes free from desire, fear and anger. One who is always in this state is certainly liberated.

अनुवाद

समस्त इन्द्रियविषयों को बाहर करके, दृष्टि को भौंहों के मध्य में केन्द्रित करके, प्राण तथा अपान वायु को नथुनों के भीतर रोककर और इस तरह मन, इन्द्रियों तथा बुद्धि को वश में करके जो मोक्ष को लक्ष्य बनाता है वह योगी इच्छा, भय तथा क्रोध से रहित हो जाता है | जो निरन्तर इस अवस्था में रहता है, वह अवश्य ही मुक्त है |

भोक्तारं यज्ञतपसां सर्वलोकमहेश्वरम्। सुहृदं सर्वभूतानां ज्ञात्वा मां शान्तिमृच्छति।।

Translation

A person in full consciousness of Me, knowing Me to be the ultimate beneficiary of all sacrifices and austerities, the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods, and the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities, attains peace from the pangs of material miseries.

अनुवाद

मुझे समस्त यज्ञों तथा तपस्याओं का परम भोक्ता, समस्त लोकों तथा देवताओं का परमेश्र्वर एवं समस्त जीवों का उपकारी एवं हितैषी जानकर मेरे भावनामृत से पूर्ण पुरुष भौतिक दुखों से शान्ति लाभ-करता है |

श्री भगवानुवाच अनाश्रितः कर्मफलं कार्यं कर्म करोति यः। स संन्यासी च योगी च न निरग्निर्न चाक्रियः।।

Translation

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic, not he who lights no fire and performs no duty.

श्रीभगवान् ने कहा – जो पुरुष अपने कर्मफल के प्रति अनासक्त है और जो अपने कर्तव्य का पालन करता है, वही संन्यासी और असली योगी है | वह नहीं, जो न तो अग्नि जलाता है और न कर्म करता है |

यं संन्यासमिति प्राहुर्योगं तं विद्धि पाण्डव। न ह्यसंन्यस्तसङ्कल्पो योगी भवति कश्चन।।

Translation

What is called renunciation you should know to be the same as yoga, or linking oneself with the Supreme, O son of Pāṇḍu, for one can never become a yogī unless he renounces the desire for sense gratification.

हे पाण्डुपुत्र! जिसे संन्यास कहते हैं उसे ही तुम योग अर्थात् परब्रह्म से युक्त होना जानो क्योंकि इन्द्रियतृप्ति के लिए इच्छा को त्यागे बिना कोई कभी योगी नहीं हो सकता |

Translation

For one who is a neophyte in the eightfold yoga system, work is said to be the means; and for one who is already elevated in yoga, cessation of all material activities is said to be the means.

अष्टांगयोग के नवसाधक के लिए कर्म साधन कहलाता है और योगसिद्ध पुरुष के लिए समस्त भौतिक कार्यकलापों का परित्याग ही साधन कहा जाता है |

A person is said to be elevated in yoga when, having renounced all material desires, he neither acts for sense gratification nor engages in fruitive activities.

जब कोई पुरुष समस्त भौतिक इच्छाओं का त्यागा करके न तो इन्द्रियतृप्ति के लिए कार्य करता है और न सकामकर्मों में प्रवृत्त होता है तो वह योगारूढ कहलाता है |

One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well.

मनुष्य को चाहिए कि अपने मन की सहायता से अपना उद्धार करे और अपने को नीचे न गिरने दे | यह मन बद्धजीव का मित्र भी है और शत्रु भी |

Translation

For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy.

जिसने मन को जीत लिया है उसके लिए मन सर्वश्रेष्ठ मित्र है, किन्तु जो ऐसा नहीं कर पाया इसके लिए मन सबसे बड़ा शत्रु बना रहेगा |
