यदि ह्यहं न वर्तेयं जातु कर्मण्यतन्द्रितः। मम वर्त्मानुवर्तन्ते मनुष्याः पार्थ सर्वशः।।

Transliteration in English

yadi hyahaṁ na varteyaṁ jātu karmaṇyatandritaḥ mama vartmānuvartante manuṣhyāḥ pārtha sarvaśhaḥ

यदि ह्य-हं न वर्तेयं जातु कर्मण्य-अतन्द्रितः मम वर्त्म-अनुवर्तन्ते मनुष्याः पार्थ सर्वशः

Word Meaning

yadi—if; hi—certainly; aham—I; na—not; varteyam—thus engage; jātu—ever; karmaṇi—in the performance of prescribed duties; atandritaḥ—carefully; mama—my; vartma—path; anuvartante—follow; manuṣhyāḥ—all men; pārtha—Arjun, the son of Pritha; sarvaśhaḥ—in all respects

शब्दार्थ

यदि– यदि; हि– निश्चय ही; अहम्– मैं; न– नहीं; वर्तेयम्– इस प्रकार व्यस्त रहूँ; जातु– कभी; कर्मणि– नियत कर्मों के सम्पादन में; अतन्द्रितः– सावधानी के साथ; मम– मेरा; वर्त्म– पथ; अनुवर्तन्ते– अनुगमन करेंगे; मनुष्याः– सारे मनुष्य; पार्थ– हे पृथापुत्र; सर्वशः– सभी प्रकार से |

Translation

For if I ever failed to engage in carefully performing prescribed duties, O Pārtha, certainly all men would follow My path.

अनुवाद

क्योंकि यदि मैं नियत कर्मों को सावधानीपूर्वक न करूँ तो हे पार्थ! यह निश्चित है कि सारे मनुष्य मेरे पथ का ही अनुगमन करेंगे |

In order to keep the balance of social tranquillity for progress in spiritual life, there are traditional family usages meant for every civilized man. Although such rules and regulations are for the conditioned souls and not Lord Kṛṣṇa, because He descended to establish the principles of religion He followed the prescribed rules. Otherwise, common men would follow in His footsteps, because He is the greatest authority. From the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam it is understood that Lord Kṛṣṇa was performing all the religious duties at home and out of home, as required of a householder.

अभयचरणारविंद भक्तिवेदांत स्वामी श्रील प्रभुपाद द्वारा व्याख्या

आध्यात्मिक जीवन की उन्नति के लिए एवं सामाजिक शान्ति में संतुलन बनाये रखने के लिए कुछ परम्परागत कुलाचार हैं जो प्रत्येक सभ्य व्यक्ति के लिए होते हैं | ऐसे विधि-विधान केवल बद्धजीवों के लिए हैं, भगवान् कृष्ण के लिए नहीं, लेकिन क्योंकि वे धर्म की स्थापना के लिए अवतरित हुए थे, अतः उन्होंने निर्दिष्ट नियमों का पालन किया | अन्यथा, सामान्य व्यक्ति भी उन्हीं के पदचिन्हों का अनुसरण करते क्योंकि कृष्ण परम प्रमाण हैं | श्रीमद्भागवत् से यह ज्ञात होता है कि श्रीकृष्ण अपने घर में तथा बहार गृहोस्थित धर्म का आचरण करते रहे |

As lord Kṛṣṇa is supreme personality, whatever he will do will be followed by many people. Hence by setting good example he is engaged in his duty very carefully.
